Fence Buying Guide
4 Easy Steps
Do you need new Keter aluminium posts or can re-use existing posts with new Keter adapter kits?
Choose longer posts for partial embedding in the ground, or standard posts to secure to a level and solid surface, like concrete, timber, or decking.
For new posts, measure the length that the fence needs to cover [see FAQs for more info], and for adapter kits, measure the gap between existing posts and count the number of gaps needing new panels. Use the quick reference table below to see how many Keter fence packs you need.
See our ‘Final Checks’ section and FAQ’s below.

Step 3: How Many Packs Do I Need?
Calculating the number of fencing kits needed for your space doesn’t have to be overwhelming. With a clear and organised approach, it can become a straightforward task. Follow this simple guide to find out exactly how many fencing kits you’ll require for your project, ensuring you have everything you need to create the perfect enclosure.

Step 4 : Final Checks
1. Have you measured the perimeter?
Start by measuring the area where you plan to install the fence. If your space is rectangular or square, measure the length and width. For irregular shapes, break down the area into smaller, manageable sections and measure each side.
2. Have you reviewed the kit specifications?
Check the specifications of the fencing kits you’re considering and make sure it’s the right one for you and your preferred installation method.
3. Have you calculated the number of kits needed?
Use our handy guide or divide your total perimeter by the length of fencing in each kit to determine how many kits you will require.
**Supportive Example** - Total perimeter = 140 feet - Length per kit = 10 feet - Number of kits needed = Total Perimeter ÷ Length per Kit = 140 ÷ 10 = 14 kits
Remember
Before finalising your fencing plans check with local regulations regarding fencing. Some areas require permits or have specific height and material restrictions. This might affect the type of fencing or the number of kits you need.
Confidently calculate how many fencing kits you’ll need by accurately measuring your space, understanding the specifications of the fencing kits, and accounting for waste and local regulations. This ensures that your fence installation goes smoothly and effectively meets your needs. Happy fencing!
